Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 23, 2026

Moniflux ("Moniflux," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Moniflux website at https://moniflux.com and related mobile applications (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information we collect

We collect information in the following categories:

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from Google (such as your name, email address, and profile picture) as permitted by your Google account settings.

Financial tracking data you enter. Moniflux is a manual tracking tool. You choose what to store, which may include subscription names, bill names, billers, amounts, billing frequencies, due or renewal dates, categories, payment status, and similar information you enter about your recurring expenses. We do not connect to your bank accounts or automatically import transactions unless we explicitly add that feature and update this policy.

Household and sharing data. If you use household features, we store household membership, invite information, and expense split details you configure so members of a household can view shared data according to your settings.

Waitlist information. If you join our waitlist on the landing page, we collect your email address so we can contact you about early access.

Payment information. If you purchase a paid plan, payments are processed by Stripe. We receive transaction and billing-related information such as your Stripe customer ID, purchase history, and plan status. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.

Technical and usage information. We automatically collect certain technical data when you use the Service, such as device type, browser type, IP address, and general usage information needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, such as keeping you signed in and remembering interface preferences (for example, sidebar state). You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some parts of the Service may not work properly if you disable them.

2. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Create and manage your account and authenticate you
  • Store and display the subscriptions, bills, and household data you enter
  • Process payments and manage your plan
  • Send service-related communications, such as account or security notices
  • Respond to support requests
  • Monitor, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues
  • Comply with legal obligations

We may send you product updates or waitlist announcements if you have signed up for them. You can opt out of non-essential marketing emails at any time.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers. We use trusted third parties to help us run the Service, including:
    • Convex — application hosting and database infrastructure
    • Google — sign-in authentication
    • Stripe — payment processing
These providers process data on our behalf and are permitted to use it only to perform services for us, subject to their own privacy policies and contractual obligations.
  • Household members. Information you add to a shared household may be visible to other members of that household according to the feature design.
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Moniflux, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any material change in ownership or use of your personal information.

4. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may also retain certain information as required by law, to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or for legitimate business purposes such as security and fraud prevention.

Waitlist emails are retained until you unsubscribe or we no longer need them for launch communications.

5. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Receive a portable copy of certain information

You can update much of your account information in the Service settings. To request access, correction, or deletion, contact us at hello@moniflux.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

If you signed in with Google, you can also manage the data Google shares with us through your Google account permissions.

7. International users

Moniflux is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have data protection laws different from those in your country.

Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate legal bases for processing your information, such as performing our contract with you, pursuing legitimate interests, or obtaining your consent.

8. California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law.

9. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice, such as by email or a notice in the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
